Investment Services for Charities

Charity Trustees need to be confident that their charity’s investments are being well managed, by investment professionals whose skills and knowledge they can trust. The managers at GBIM have ample experience in managing charities’ investments over many years, and also can assist wealthy clients to set up their own charity. Our service focuses on maximising the return from investments while ensuring that they are compatible with and closely aligned to the charity’s individual mission.

We understand that no two charities are the same and portfolios are managed on a segregated, bespoke basis. Nonetheless, many Trustees face similar challenges and we believe our experience assists them to meet regulatory demands and to achieve the best outcomes for the causes they support.

What GBIM Offer

We offer Trustees a customised approach, and expert strategic advice. We give charities access to a full range of investment opportunities.

We manage bespoke, diversified portfolios of assets which include fixed interest, equities and alternative investments. These are held both directly and through collectives. We do not use models or pre-packaged solutions.

We recognise that every charity has different ethical priorities and financial needs. We work closely with the Trustees to make certain that financial objectives are met, while ensuring that social, environmental and ethical requirements are integrated into the investment approach. We monitor EIRIS and Eurosif updates on behalf of the Trustees.

Support and Administration

All clients are looked after by two experienced managers, to whom they have direct access, with the support of an efficient team of administrators.

We firmly believe in maximising the security of investment administration, and that this can only be truly achieved using a third party nominee. Charity Trustees value the security of holding and settling all cash and assets within an arms length, ring-fenced custodian

As well as regular reviews the Trustees will receive a year-end tax pack including:

  • Schedule of all dividends and interest received during the year.
  • Schedule of tax reclaimed on behalf of the Trustees.
  • Schedule of acquisitions and disposals.
  • Schedule of assets held by the Custodian.

Containing costs is important. Our fees are transparent and fair with no hidden charges.
